Due to continued expansion, the business is seeking an Associate or Principal Structural Engineer to join its Leeds office.This is a senior and influential position offering responsibility for delivering major building structures projects, managing client relationships and developing the engineers and technicians around you. You will join a progressive consultancy where your contribution will directly influence the business - where equity ownership opportunities allow employees to share in its future success.The RoleYou will lead the structural delivery of building projects from initial concept through to completion, acting as a principal point of contact for clients and coordinating with internal infrastructure and geo-environmental teams.Your responsibilities will include:Leading building structures projects with construction values of up to £75 millionProducing and reviewing structural designs across steel, concrete, masonry and timberUndertaking 3D modelling and structural analysis for a range of building formsProviding advanced design input for superstructures, substructures and foundationsPreparing calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, feasibility studies and technical appraisalsManaging project programmes, resources, commercial performance and technical deliveryCoordinating multidisciplinary design teams and maintaining strong client relationshipsOverseeing and developing graduates, engineers and techniciansCarrying out site inspections, surveys and technical assessmentsResolving complex engineering and construction challengesSupporting fee proposals, networking activities and wider business developmentRepresenting and promoting the consultancy to clients and industry contactsTravelling to project sites throughout the UK when requiredAbout YouTo be considered, you should have:At least 10 years' relevant structural engineering experienceChartered or Incorporated status with the IStructE or ICE, or be approaching professional qualificationA strong track record delivering building structures projects through the construction lifecycleAdvanced structural design capabilities across a range of materialsExperience managing projects from inception through to completionThe ability to lead teams, coordinate workloads and mentor developing engineersStrong knowledge of current construction methods, ground investigations and ground-improvement techniquesExperience working within a multidisciplinary engineering consultancyExcellent technical communication, presentation and sketching skillsThe confidence to manage clients and act as the primary contact on projectsA commercial mindset and willingness to contribute to business developmentA full UK driving licenceExperience with the following software would be advantageous:TEDDSMasterSeriesFastTrack Portal FrameCADS Wall PanelP-FrameMasterSeries Retaining WallWhat's on Offer?Company vehicle or car allowance, depending on levelEmployee share ownership opportunitiesPotential tax-free bonus, subject to business performanceClear progression towards senior management or Director levelFlexible start and finish times around core office hoursMinimum 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with serviceOption to sell back unused holidayFully funded support for professional qualificationsPayment of one professional institution subscriptionEmployee counselling and wellbeing supportMonthly staff lunches and regular team social eventsModern Leeds office close to the motorway networkFree onsite parkingThis is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious senior Structural Engineer who wants to lead significant projects, develop a team and build a long-term career within an employee-owned consultancy.
