Data* for May once again suggests that the gradual lifting of restrictions has created more opportunities within the lower pay salary bracket in turn decreasing the average advertised salary.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If we look at specific regions, London took a drop for a third month decreasing by \u00a31343. This takes the average salary to \u00a341,714, the lowest it has been since August 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The South East dropped by \u00a3369 giving an average salary of \u00a332,284. This takes the generally stable region back to a pre-pandemic salary range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The North East and North West also dropped by \u00a31202 and \u00a3869 respectively. This takes the North East salary below \u00a330k at \u00a328,858 and approximately \u00a31500 lower than pre-pandemic salary levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, of note this month is Wales. There was a significant drop back in April of \u00a31529 which was counterbalanced with a rise in May of \u00a31756 bringing the average salary to \u00a331,414.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tina Mann, Project Manager at Allthetopbananas.com said: \u201cSalary data for May suggests that the UK job market is still adjusting and is not back to pre-pandemic levels just yet. It will be interesting to see what happens as we head to 21st<\/sup> June and the economy reopens fully.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
